Rafting for everyone in Valle d'Aosta

Our Rafting Republic Center specializes in rafting trips with qualified instructors and specific equipment to tackle the river well equipped.

The rafting trips are suitable for everyone: there are routes for families and children (Family), for beginners (Classic), for those looking for more adrenaline (Advanced), and the Premium option for private groups. Discounts are available for groups and offers for families, schools, and companies. The experience includes a briefing, complete equipment, transportation, and a guided descent in total safety with expert and certified guides.

Rafting for families with children

About forty minutes  down the easiest stretch of the river, but where you’re also guaranteed plenty of splashing… the ideal activity to get the whole family involved in a river descent together. At our center, rafting for families with children (the Family descent) is a fun and safe experience, because we guarantee the highest safety standards through the training of our guides, careful analysis of the river environment, and the care and selection of technical equipment.

Classic rafting

Classic rafting on the Dora Baltea is a scenic route, suitable for those who are new to the sport but want to experience the thrill of a real mountain stream.

It winds through the lower part of the river, among natural landscapes and medieval castles, including a few rapids to make the adventure more fun. The stretch from Leverogne (Gole dell’Enfer) to the base of Aymavilles offers the right balance of action, safety, and excitement, ideal even for those who have only admired the river from afar until now.

With 9.3 km of continuous navigation, the Classic Rafting descent is the option in the Aosta Valley that covers the longest stretch of the Dora Baltea river in a single route.

Rafting advanced

Rafting Advanced is the perfect descent for those looking for an exciting and dynamic experience among the rapids of the upper Dora Baltea, at the foot of Mont Blanc. It is a longer descent than the classic one, with two sections of river for four hours of activity.

No previous experience is required, just a desire to get involved. The activity lasts a whole morning, alternating technical moments with spectacular landscapes.

Rafting Selection

You can also come rafting in May and September. With the Rafting Selection descent, we choose the most enjoyable stretch of river to navigate on the day itself, based on water levels. We navigate the most suitable and exciting stretch, “chasing waves” for about an hour of active navigation between rapids and water activities.

Hydrospeed

Hydrospeed on the Dora Baltea is the activity we offer to those seeking an experience in close contact with water

After a theoretical briefing and a practical test in the lake to learn the basic techniques, you descend into the river following the guide, choosing the stretch best suited to your level and the river conditions. There are different levels of difficulty: from the first approach for beginners, to longer and more technical descents, to customized routes for the more experienced. Unlike rafting, with hydrospeed you follow the currents only with your board and fins. The activity takes place in groups with the constant accompaniment of certified guides. All equipment is provided by the center. You only need to bring a swimsuit, thermal shirt (or light microfleece) if available (otherwise any shirt will do), socks to wear under the wetsuit, and toiletries for showering at the end of the activity.

Canyoning

Canyoning combines mountaineering techniques and water activities to explore mountain waterways.

It is practiced in natural gorges carved out by water, involving descents, jumps, slides, and dives. Participants are equipped with neoprene wetsuits, helmets, harnesses, and non-slip shoes, without the use of boats as in rafting or kayaking. The activity involves an approach walk, descent with ropes and mountaineering techniques, crossing the spectacular alpine stretches of the Aosta Valley.

Kayaking

We offer a basic course consisting of three lessons assisted by our certified guides

The first two are on flat water in the lake at the base, where you can also practice freely, and the third is directly on the river with the instructor.

We provide the technical equipment. For the more experienced, there is the possibility of tackling the Dora Baltea if you know how to do an Eskimo roll and are able to navigate class 3 waters. The valley also offers other navigable tributaries, suitable for both beginners and experienced canoeists. You will need to bring a swimsuit, T-shirt, and suitable socks, as well as everything you need for showering.

NOT JUST THE RIVER :
Partner activities

For an even more intense and immersive experience, in addition to river sports, we can organize other activities for you thanks to agreements and partnerships with external providers.

OUR QUALITY

The elements of a unique outdoor experience

THE EXPERIENCE

Here, every guide is Fi.Raft certified and licensed and undergoes regular refresher training. In addition, our center is supervised by federation instructors (those responsible for training new guides) for both rafting and hydrospeed.

SAFETY

Safety first. For us, every river trip means planning the navigation, checking the technical equipment, and evaluating the crew: every detail counts.

The quality of the equipment must guarantee the excellent functionality of every element: from helmets to life jackets, from 5 mm neoprene wetsuits to boots, from rafts to each guide’s personal equipment.

LOCATION

We are located in Aymavilles, a town in the center of the Aosta Valley, at the entrance to the Cogne Valley, with its magnificent Gran Paradiso National Park.

Getting here is very easy, and the convenient,
spacious parking lot avoids any last-minute problems.
