At the Rafting Republic Centre, in the heart of Valle d’Aosta, kayaking is one of our most popular disciplines. People come to us both to learn from scratch and to improve their technique.
Kayak Lessons
Kayak lessons at Rafting Republic take place in our training lake and along the calmer stretches of the Dora Baltea, the iconic river of Valle d’Aosta.
Here, our students build confidence in the water in total safety, learning the correct paddling technique,
basic manoeuvres and balance control.
During the courses, we gradually work on:
■ The correct position on board, essential for stability and comfort
■ How to use the paddle and coordinate your movements
■ Basic manoeuvres to steer, stop and restart
■ Reading the river: understanding where the current flows and how to use it.
All lessons are led by experienced, qualified instructors, who support you at every stage. We provide all the technical equipment: kayak, paddle, life jacket, helmet and wetsuit.
Our goal is to give you confidence and control on the water, so that from that moment on, the river becomes simply a route to follow.

At Rafting Republic, we follow strict protocols: every participant receives an initial briefing, full technical equipment and constant support from certified guides.
The equipment provided includes:
■ Kayak or canoe suited to the student’s level
■ Paddle

■ Protective helmet
■ Neoprene wetsuit and water jacket
■ River shoes.
Lessons take place only in favourable weather conditions and
on the river sections best suited to the group’s safety.

All technical equipment is provided by the centre, and no previous experience is required.
