Frequently ask question

Rafting Republic provides a wetsuit, neoprene shoes, helmet and life jacket.

We recommend wearing underwear, a T-shirt or thermal shirt, and socks underneath the wetsuit. Please note that these clothes will get completely wet once you are in the river.

For this reason, we recommend bringing a full change of clothes and everything you need for a shower.

Adults aged 16 and over can try any type of descent, depending on whether they prefer a calmer or more exciting experience, a shorter or a longer route.

None of our descents are designed exclusively for experienced rafters, but for all activities it is essential to be able to swim and to follow the guide’s instructions.

Children must be at least 6 years old or 110 cm tall.

The only route suitable for them is the Family descent.

Parents who would like to try something a little more exciting can choose the Classic descent, while leaving the younger children with our staff. The children will then join mum and dad on the raft only for the section they are allowed to do.

There is no minimum number required.

Our rafts are for 6 or 8 people, so if there are only a few of you, you will probably be grouped with other participants.

If you are a larger group, you will be placed on the same raft or on nearby rafts.

Adults aged 16 and over who have never tried hydrospeed can start from Level 1.

For those who already have experience, we also offer Level 2, 3, 4 and 5.

It is important to be aware that, in hydrospeed, the risk of bruises and minor injuries cannot be completely eliminated. This is because the activity takes place fully immersed in the water, and there is a possibility of hitting the rocks in the river with the lower limbs.

The likelihood of more serious injuries is very low.

Kayaking or canoeing is the river sport that requires the most preparation.

For beginners, two lessons on canoe handling techniques are required before going down the river. The lessons can be arranged with the instructor and, between one lesson and the next, Rafting Republic gives you the opportunity to practise independently in the small lake at the base, providing all the necessary equipment free of charge.

Alternatively, you can go down the river in a two-seater canoe together with a kayak guide.

For those who are already experienced canoeists, knowledge of the Eskimo roll and experience on class 3 waters are required in order to go down the river with the guide in individual canoes.

During the online purchase process, you need to tick the “It’s a gift” box and enter the name of the person you want to give the descent to.

Once the purchase is completed, you will receive a PDF gift voucher, which can be used throughout the season, subject to a phone call to confirm the chosen date.

The rafting base and the canyoning starting point are located in two different areas of Valle d’Aosta, so it is better to reserve two separate days for the two activities.

The bar at the base offers daily dishes, but some people prefer to bring everything they need from home for a barbecue with friends.

We provide grills and firewood free of charge.

For holders of the Rafting Republic Card, there are also several partner restaurants available.

Our base is a peaceful green area, equipped with sun loungers and a bar service.

Those who are not taking part in the river activities can relax and sunbathe, and may also choose to watch their friends when they arrive back at the landing point.
