Feel the river the way it's meant to be!

WHAT'S KAYAKING?

Probably the best river sport, but also the one requiring the highest level of preparation.

If you are not a canoeist but still want to try out kayaking, we have a three-lesson course for you. Alternatively, you can choose to paddle a two-person canoe.

For advanced paddlers we organize trips lead by our guides.

OUR TRIPS

KAYAKING LESSONS

Before you can take on the river, you need two lessons on flat water. The first two sessions with the instructor are carried out on the lake at our base. If you feel like you need more training, you can come to our base and practice as long as you want, free of charge. On the third lesson you will make your first experience on the river.

LEVEL

50 € per lesson

TWO-PERSON KAYAK

You do not need to take the course. You can float down the river with a guide who will explain to you how to coordinate your movements and improve your paddling skills.

LEVEL

FOR ADVANCED KAYAKERS

If you want to tackle the Dora river with our guide, you need to know how to do an Eskimo roll and be able to ride class III rapids.

LEVEL    +

WHAT'S PROVIDED

All of the necessary technical equipment (canoe, wetsuit and neoprene booties, splash jacket, helmet, life jacket, paddle, spraydeck) and access to our lake until September (you can keep coming back and try out what you have learned until you decide to improve your skills and book a private lesson for the next level)

WHAT TO BRING

swimwear, everything you need to take a shower, t-shirt and socks that water cannot hurt, laces for your glasses if you want to wear them during the activity

EXTRA FACT

The Dora is not the only navigable river in Aosta Valley. The most exuberant canoeists can enjoy a good ride in its tributaries too – well, at least they used to, because on the Envers side of the valley only the Grand Eyvia creek is practicable, while the Savara and the Dora Rhêmes are no more accessible, due to human intervention and concrete. Too bad! On the northern side of the valley, they still can enjoy the Buthier and Marmore tributaries, reaching the Dora Baltea after a series of jumps and drops.
