Tackle the mighty rapids

WHAT'S HYDROSPEEDING?

In 1970, three technicians specialised in bridges and viaducts (Claude Puch, Pierre Simon e Maurice Tiveron), while observing the force of a river current, had the crazy idea of riding it on a ring-shaped object – this is how hydrospeeding is believed to have originated.
Those three fearless technicians would then be remembered as “les nageurs de l’impossible”. Since then, technological advances have been made and hydrospeeding, also known as riverboarding or water sledging, is now a recognised sport, accessible to the general public.
The hydrospeed is an unsinkable foam board on which you lie prone. The board protects you and supports your body throughout your ride and it is highly manoeuvrable.
Use your chest and arms to steer the hydrospeed board, and your fins to provide the thrust to navigate in river currents. It’s easy to follow your Rafting Republic guide through fast rapids, splashing waves and unexpected whirlpools.
